The Orogeny's Zone
Orogeny speaks to the phenomenon of mountain building. In all respects, Mountain Mentors has been crafted of it's own orogeny's zone.
Mountain Mentors surfaced in the mid-90's as a front range initiative conceived to provide watershed-specific lesson plans for the classroom. It focused on the natural history proximal to the schools in which it worked.
Having had a quiescent period of several years, we now have ambitions to reach a wider audience and, in turn, embrace more regional approaches to engendering 'Literracy' with a bioregional context.
Mountain Mentors is, less any definition, a synthesis of the many relationships, dialogues, and collective ruminations of a personal, professional and academic dialectic surrounding the intersect of man and its landscape. What is the nature of our respective regards for that relationship and what informs the way we reflect on that relationship?
Towards that objective, Mountain Mentors is incubating three projects: The Art for Wildlife Conservation Initiative, The Goodfindian Rubric and Terra MMMaps.
In addition to the projects, Mountain Mentors will be apprentice, partner and a promoting agent of initiatives and organizations with whom collaboration could advance shared objectives.
